Ford Falcon XR6 Ute Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 given 49% (245-40-18-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 12500 average miles
Pricey and really not worth the money.

6 months and 20,000 kilometres and they are finished.

Interesting I had equal wear over all 4 tires without rotation. Not so sure footed in the wet or in cold weather. Noisey, actually very noisy tires especially when wearing low to 4mm down to 2mm tree depth.

10% increase in fuel consumption driving the same roads I have driven, same vehicle with previous tires that lasted 45,000 kilometres. No real sense of better anything really

Now changed to Bridgestone RE003

After 6 months and 20,000 kilometres my sport cup 2s were dead. Interesting that all four pretty much wore out about the same, without rotation. Fuel consumption increased by 10%.

Went with RE003 this time round after listening to what my daughter had to say running them in her Merc C300.

First impressions are the RE003 is a quieter tire and has similar grip to the sport cup 2 driving the same roads I always drive on. No hesitation with these, they feel good and might feel a bit more trusting in the wet.

Need to now monitor wear and fuel consumption.

Driving on mostly country roads for 2000 average miles
Adequate in the Dry but spooky in the wet especially on long fast corners. They spin up way too easily in the Wet; much more prevalant that previous Conti3;s & even Achillies. The good thing is theve made me get a really good set of Pirelli Rossos, which are GR8 !
