Honda 1.8 iVTEC Es Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Nexen N Fera SU1 given 89% (225-45-17-)
Driving on mostly country roads for 15000 spirited miles
I have used these on my Honda Civic 1.8 since they were first recomended to me by my local tyre shop. I am now on my second set and will be putting them on my Audi TT. They just grip and grip, surefooted and utterly predictable. I simply cant fault them.

Comparing those with my previous Nexen cp662, the Nokian has worse dry and handling performance, on snow those are better

Worst Tyre I bought ever. The Tyre didn't last for 6 month, and generated unbelievable noise... I sent my car to the mechanic because I tought the niloise from the car. How we it came from the tyres... Don't buy at all. It is worst that the worst low budget Tyre.

Great tyres that work well on the 1.8 civic. No complaints as they have not only lasted well but you get great feedback and no roll so great for handling.

Significantly better than Fulda SC 2 previously mounted. Still did not put them in really hard situations but so far excellent for everyday driving than Fulda.

My driveway is on a mountainside and is steep. My Honda Civic wheel-spun until I fitted these Yokohama tyres. Brilliant, I go up no problem in all weather. Recently I test drove a new German car also front wheel drive. It failed the final test of climbing my driveway!

Worst tyre ever, fitted on my Honda Civic 235/35/19 Continental premium contact 6 the road handling was somewhat normal same as Bridgestone and Michelin not really impressive. The worst part was the wear of the tyre! It was done only 12,000miles and I had to change all my 4 tyres!

Tyres came with Honda Civic 2010 1.8 petrol. 225/40/R18 XL Y. I was completely amazed at how tactile these tyres were. They communicated everything that was happening, the steering felt precise and direct. While traveling on motorways the car felt very stable and secure. I couldn't believe how good the tyres were.
Dry grip was brilliant as was handling, grip in wet also very good although being older and wiser I never tried to imitate Ayrton Senna! But equally in the wet the car never slid unless I purposely pushed it and then the tyres let you know in good time when they were starting to lose grip.
However, 8th Gen Civic's do have firm suspension, the one big negative of the tyres was the harsh ride. The tyres would crash loudly over poor road surfaces and didn't cushion the ride at all. Brilliant on good, flat roads, poor on imperfect road surfaces. I had the fronts replaced by Potenzas S001, the ride is still quite harsh, but not quite so severe, maybe 30% improvement, grip levels similar but only half the tactile feedback now.
One caveat to remember is the Civic's ride is known to be firm and rims are size 18 and both tyres reinforced. I would definitely buy Michelin again, and would get the latest PS4, but not while I have the Civic. I plan to replace all tyres with either Continental Premium Contact 6 or Goodyear Asymmetric 3s in the near future. I suspect PS4s probably have good comfort as well as their other test winning attributes, however the main focus on my next purchase will be ride comfort as the roads where I live are pretty poor.

Very good tyres for grip in the dry and wet. Not bad for comfort and road noise, but they are soft. They wont wear well. I got barely 10k miles from a pair of front tyres commuting up and down a motorway before they wore out. You have been warned!
