Writing about the Yokohama Geolandar G98A given 52% (225-65-17-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 10000 easy going miles
These were not as good as my original tyres didn’t grip as well, but when it snowed , they were absolutely rubbish. Nearly had two accidents because I couldn’t stop, and I wasn’t going too fast, having to change them after only 10,000 miles because I feel they unsafe if it’s snows it was in snow that I have my problems. Do not know if I could stop if it was icy after a few days my vehicle is a 4x4 never had trouble stopping when it snowed before. These are not cheap budget tires, expected them to be much better, will be replacing in the next two weeks when there’s still lots of tread left

Driving on a combination of roads for 8000 spirited miles
Only 10,000km and no winter use yet although I had bought them in part for the snow. They would be a great tyre apart from the high noise levels that developed after a few thousand kilometres. Rotating them doesn't seem to help the noise situation although they did quickly develop uneven wear on the tyre shoulders and directional wear on the shoulder sipes especially. I am sensitive to noise and would not buy them again due to their noise levels inside the vehicle (Honda CRV 2007). Hard cornering does not work so well on these tyres possibly through deformation of the tread pattern although the tyre carcass is usually inflated at 36-39psi. Great in the wet and very confident in deeper water too. Again, I would really enjoy these tyres if they did not produce so much noise.

Writing about the Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2 SUV given 93% (205-70-15-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 25000 average miles
I have these tires on my 2nd generation Honda CRV. I live in British Columbia, Canada where we have 5 to 6 months of Winter with snow and ice and temperatures of down to -50 C plus windchill. These were my first Nokian tires but I have been so pleased with their performance I now have three different sets for two vehicles. These tires work with the AWD of the CRV to deliver a feeling of real security on bad winter roads. Tire wear has been minimal, I expect to get at least 10 years use out of mine because I drive less than average each year and change over to all season Nokian’s in the Spring.

Tire chunking happened after 3 years.

Road noise became apparent after 2 years.

Grip is still good for both wet and dry road conditions.

Good tires but would be wary because of the tire chunking/flaking issue. (Could be user-induced but Im not quite aure)
