MG ZS Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Hankook Kinergy 4S2 given 70% (225-55-18-)
Driving on mostly motorways for 500 average miles
Super tire, great adhesion to the road, but too noisy for an EV. The lack of engine noise needs a quiet tyre.

Writing about the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A given 83% (205-45-17-V)
Driving on mostly motorways for 40000 spirited miles
Driven for more than 5 years all i can say is one of the best sport summer tire u can fit
Dry/wet almost same grip very high limits and handling specially when they are pushed on the limit
A bit hard compound but its a performance tire not comfy for everyday use.
They lasted about 35000-40k with good grip, last 10k a bit more slippery but ok
Would buy them again if not so expensive ..

Writing about the Pirelli P Zero Nero GT given 50% (205-45-17-V)
Driving on a combination of roads for 30000 average miles
By far the worst tire i ever had.Dry grip is average for a performance tire that costs so much the side wall stiffness is somehow soft and twichy when there is load on turns but the worst part is the wet behavior of these not even average really slippy and loose even on lower speeds.Bad feedback also i lost and confidence i had with previous RE 050 potenzas..Wear is ok for 25.000-30.000 miles on average and noise is also for a 40 side wall tire..
I wouldnt recommend them and avoid them if u need a sport tire go elsewhere

Writing about the Tigar Tigar UHP given 86% (205-40-17-W)
Driving on a combination of roads for 5000 spirited miles
Very good in wet and dry for grip and feel. Punctures killed 1 tyre before tread was worn. Definitely buying them again. I used them on my mg that was tuned and never caused any issues

Writing about the Three A P606 given 80% (205-45-17-W)
Driving on a combination of roads for 500 average miles
I have fitted these tyres to my MG ZS and so far these are the best budget/mid range tyres I have bought for my car and for just under £50 per tyre fitted, you cannot grumble for that kind of price. The grip you get in the dry including the response and handling is excellent compared to my last tyre which was the Falken ZE914 and the grip in the wet is just about the same from the last tyre I had fitted. As for the wear on these tyres, I can't really comment because I've only done 500 miles so far on them but the comfort and road noise again is far better than my last tyre as mentioned above. I will definitely be buying these tyres again in the future for that kind of price and highly recommended.

Writing about the Kumho Ecsta KU31 given 77% (205-45-17-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 25000 spirited miles
1. Dry grip - grat for low cost tyre (bought 4 for 260euros)- they grip well after beeing warmed a bit, true out whole live span
2. wet grip- they don´t grip well
3. wear- great - visited alps 3 times + 1 track day + city higway driving
fronts are near dead - 25000miles, left just 1mm above control mark, rears maybe 2-3mm.

Replace my toyo t1rs with these as the toyo tyres only lasted 6k miles. Got to say I'm stunned at how good they are. Would recommend you to anyone. For a budget tyre they surpass all expectations.

Needed two tyres for MOT, could not afford Conti Sport Contact 2s at the time.
Really the tyre company (Blackcircles) should have advised against these tyres on the ZS180. The MOST LETHAL tyres I have ever used, so bad the wife would not drive it in the wet. There must be far better budget tyres than these.
Back to the Contis!

Simply lethal in anything other than dry conditions. The MG ZS is a fantastic handling car and these tyres absolutely ruin the driving experience in poor weather. They grip reasonably well in the dry although I think that is more the car than the tyres, but it will start to understeer at less than 20mph in the rain, that is not acceptable and not a characteristic of this model car but simply the tyres. Years ago I briefly ran them on a Sierra when I fitted some wheels fitted with these, a RWD car was terrifying on these at anything above a crawl and reverting back to small tyres of Champiro origin restored some confidence. I would have thought the compounds would have changed over the years but sadly not. The car came with these tyres as I would never choose to have them fitted, and despite being only half worn they are going in the bin. A decent midrange from Kumho, Hankook or Nexen is similarly priced but far superior. The only saving grace to people who are worried about such things is that they seem to last a while due to the hard compound, but they are noisy, harsh riding and handle very badly. The front end slides with very little notice, again the car hides some of the deficiencies due to its excellent roadholding. However the ABS is more active too, no confidence at all. Do not buy these if you enjoy your car, love your family or want to make it home after an emergency stop.

Best tyre I have ever fitted to my car, I had P6000's on the car last, they were very good, but the Kumho's are better, and the wear I have experienced in the last 2000 miles is minimal.
Will be 100% fitting these tyres again.
