Mercedes Benz CLK 220 CDI Sport Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Continental WinterContact TS 860 given 84% (225-45-17-)
Driving on mostly town for 7000 average miles
These were on my car when i bought it used, so the tyres that i had experience with were about 30-40% worn. I mostly do city driving but here and there are some longer distances on the highway. They don't wear down quickly. Never had any grip problems during the winter. Even took the car to icetrack and these performed exceptionally well, i was impressed. When buying my next set of tyres, they will be also not studded from continental. I have to point out that there were some places where the rear of the car's tires spinned a bit, but that's normal because of winter.

Transforms a very good CLK into a true sports car.

The bad thing about putting up a good report is the more people wants to buy them the more it costs to buy but given these tyres are only £60-70 front and rears fitted they are a bargain.

Not many reviews on the go but have driven over 2 million miles and I wont buy any other brand now, last tyres were conti contacts they were good but not in this class in the wet they grip so well much better than the contacts,in the dry about the same.

CLK has very good TC but since I have had these since August 16 the TC has not come on once which I thought it was BROKEN.

They are near silient in day to day running but this depends on car model.

Not had snow yet but spoke to one of their reps who stated AVON wanted these to be the best winter, summer tyre on the market, we will see!

In 5000 miles not had much wear to be honest I think 30,000 should be easy at current rate and getting around 2mpg more than the very good contacts so average upto 39-42mpg at 65mph average.

Got to be the best value tyre on the market, think they are the best I have ever had no matter what price I have paid in the past.

Driving on a combination of roads for 1000 spirited miles
bought a set of 17s with alloys from nordic tyres very reasonabley priced they dont make the size for the rears so opted for the 17ins, first snow fell in january time to test them , drove through heavy snow no problem up and down hills all untreated no problem corners like a dry road braking very good now its mostly ice on side roads still no problems ,verdict great tyres inspires confidence when driving in snow and icy roads

Driving on mostly country roads for 10000 spirited miles
Very disappointed with these tyres, I've had them for about 9 months and covered just over 10K in them and they are worn through already. I had a puncture on one side after having them on for a month so had to buy another one and it's worn away just as quickly.
In the dry these tyres perform reasonably well but in the wet the grip is well below average.
I normally drive reasonably quick cars so I get used to noisy tyres but these are exceptionally noisy.
