Renault twingo Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Nexen N2000 given 96% (185-60-13-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 8000 spirited miles
These tyres are amazing, since the day I discovered them I only used in my car, the control in dry and wet make me feel so comfortable that I do not need to adjust much my driving style for any condition, I basically love those tyres. Big fan

For the price nothing compares to it as long as you keep your driving on the civil side, on the wet going at double the speed limit will bring you some handling issues. They last forever and are extremely comfortable at any speeds while giving a reasonable feedback.

I am dissapointed with these tyres, I purchased them to replace 'cheapy & useless in the wet' accelerras. they do grip well & are better in all respects EXCEPT road noise, they are very noisy by comparison & not what I expected from the reviews. They are newly fitted so cant really review for wear but can only hope they may get quieter with age!

Writing about the Toyo Proxes TR1 given 83% (195-50-15-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 4500 spirited miles
I got these as a trial against rainsport 3s. indo 50miles a day but sometimes track the car so rainsports were my go to tire. I used to love the early t1r but they seemed to get worse a few years later, maybe a change of production compound? or facility? Any way I love the TR1, budget priced but high midrange performance, grip is awesome in the dry and I have no problems in the wet or standing water, obviously I'm driving within the limits but they do inspire a bit of confidence in the wet, they also look similar to rainsports..... I ran these for a full day at blyton also, no issues on a dry track there, kept the pressure in check and suffered no delaminating or extreme wear. Kept up with everything fine and handled really well. I will buy more of these for sure. The only thing I'd actually swap them out for would be some super sticky road slicks tbh. Car is a light tuned twingo with about 150bhp and 150lbft.

Writing about the Uniroyal RainSport 2 given 80% (195-40-17-)
Driving on mostly country roads for 18000 spirited miles
Well, they are a little bit noisy and maybe uncomfortable. I bought them in the begining of the summer drought and I thought: "aghhh, what a mistake"... And then the rain fell... And I fell in love with this tyre.
The way Uniroyal Rainsport 2 performed in wet conditions was absolutely breathtaking. I have never experienced anything like that. Gave me so much confidence that I waited for the rain to fall just to take my Twingo133 for a ride, it grips like hell and you just enjoy cruising and speeding around as the water sprays from V-shape lines behind you.

Downsides? There are some, but I forgive them all.
Anyway, let me mention it: on dry and hot conditions, the tyre turns slowly, as the "side-wall" is a bit soft. It is strange in the begining as the car dives in a corner with a milisecond delay, but it's not a problem once you get used on it.

Writing about the BFGoodrich gGrip given 74% (165-50-15-R)
Driving on mostly country roads for 1000 spirited miles
I fitted a new set of BFG gGrip's as a 'sensible' all-round choice on a set of 15" wheels (to replace the silly low profile OEM 17" wheels on my Renault Twingo RS133 Gordini). Overall I've been very impressed and can't really fault them on a relatively light and sensibly powered sports hatch. They may lack a bit of feel & feedback, but they are proving hard wearing and haven't let me down or broken grip yet during 'spirited' driving sessions (even in the wet winter UK commuting and near zeroC temperatures). Summary: a quality, sensibly-priced, all-rounder you can rely on, with no major gripes or problems.
