SEAT Leon 140PD Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Yokohama BluEarth AE50 given 73% (225-45-17-)

Reasonably good grip in both wet and dry. Have these on front and provide good feedback and response through the steering wheel. I drive a fwd heavy diesel. As others said they are quiet and roll freely. Only complaint is there is now less than 3mm after 12,000 miles of mostly lightly driven mileage and will need replacing very soon. For the cheap price they are ok as a midrange tyre and would consider again if at the right price.

Had these on the front of my Mk2 Leon, lasted for two years before they were at the legal tread limit, the sidewalls had started to crack by this point so they last well in that perspevtive and are grippy in the dry, bit loose in the wet for my liking. I never thrashed my car around but I did have plenty of spirited driving, and they seemed to cope well. Awful in the snow but they weren't designed for winter driving so can't moan about that.
Only negative was the sidewalls felt very soft, this may be because my Leon had a heavy TDI lump in it but when pushing the tyres to the linit round corners the sidewalls did feel like they flexed a lot, they did so progressively so nothing dangerous, just a bit too soft. Wet grip isn't great, would definitely recommend for summer tyres.

I have these fited to my Seat Leon. This week we have had a lot of snow. Sideroads are not gritted. I have found these tyres to be top rate in these conditions and we have plenty of hills in Derbyshire. I passed another car easily this morning on a snow covered hill. Plenty of grip in the snow and my car performs as well as a 4 by 4. Total confidence with these on and as I own other cars I will definitely be buying more Event Tyres.

This is my first performance tire. Coming from Bridgestone er300 , I found SportMaxx RT fantastic.

These tyres completely transformed the handling of my car. I was running ditch finders and had no confidence in my car at all and 2 very close calls, I put these on and it's cornering like it's on rails. Handles in all weather conditions and can't fault them :-)
Currently done about 8-10,000 miles and still have about 3.5-4mm tread left.
Defo a great tyre.

I highly rate these tyres especially at the price I paid. My Leon diesel is putting out 240hp and 365lbs and they handled the power in both wet and dry.
14,000 miles and still got about 2-3mm of tread left.
They are a great tyre for the price and would buy again.
