Driving on a combination of roads for 4000 spirited miles
Excellent tyres, good-ish wet grip, the only problem I experienced with them in the wet, was pulling off at traffic lights, wheel spun a few times, it happen once on a dry day. I feel confident with them on my car, in the rain or ice conditions, definitely not frightened on the motorway in the wet. I'm using them with 20mm spacers, and they do look good. I had them on the front axle of my winter tyres, my summer tyres are have them on all 4 corners, I haven't really checked the fuel efficiency, I always use E5
They are quiet, no need to turn up my head unit, to block out the noise, even though I do like my music a bit louder than normal (anyway the music blocks out the tinnitus)
They are £145 a corner (that's the cheapest I found them) but they are worth every penny, give them a try

Driving on a combination of roads for 17000 average miles
Car is a Saab 9-3ss Hirsch V6, running 235/45/17 size. Highly recommend!

I submitted a review in April '13, when I replaced my Dunlop Sportmaxx RT set with the Conti SC5's. The Dunlops were marginally quieter & a little better on fuel consumption; but wore within 9k miles to 3mm tread.

The Contis are now at nearly 17k miles (approaching 10 months daily usage, mostly A-roads) and, even after swapping fronts and rears in December, at between 5mm and 6mm. These tyres are supreme on standing water at speed - none of the skittishness that I had with the Dunlops. Dry grip is really good, too - not that I "fling" the car brutally; but there are some roads where I used to feel the limit on the Dunlops, whereas I still have total grip (and no hint of limit) with the Contis.

Driving on a combination of roads for 8000 average miles
I left a review mid-October '13, when the tyres were new-on. 8000 miles of mostly A-road / dual carriageway later, they are still top-rate. I expected I'd need to swap the fronts & rears, to even out wear, about now; but there is no need to yet - lots of tread-depth all round.

The tyres became quieter once they'd settled in. What hasn't changed since new is the confidence in fast, dry cornering: they just grip and grip more.

They are a little more skittish on standing water at speed (of which the A3 in Hampshire has had plenty) but, when forced through B-road floods, there was no loss of grip or traction.

Highly recommended tyre. I will report back once the tyres reach end-life.

Driving on a combination of roads for 1000 average miles
I shod my last car (Mazda6 2.3 Sport) with Goodyear F1 Eagle Assymetric 2 - and I was amazed at the transformation they made. A change of car and a need for better tyres leaned me toward the same tyre, albeit wider.

I was swayed by reviews of the Dunlop Sportmaxx RT. The Saab 9-3 Aero V6, with Hirsch upgrade, now handles and brakes like the car I wanted it to be. A little more road rumble than I had hoped - but, on every road condition thrown at the car so far, the new Dunlops are totally confidence-inspiring and, on dual carriageway, are returning better MPG than the old tyres did.

I will report back after the cold, wet months. That's where the Goodyears were truly superb for a summer tyre.

Driving on a combination of roads for 700 average miles
Due to needing new bushes on the rear of my Saab I was in the unenviable position of needing to buy 4 tyres - I'd heard some positive noises about Barum and made some enquiries. I had some Dunlop Sport Maxx on the front which lasted 9000 miles and were noisy and when I priced up 4 Dunlops it was £480,I found 4 x Barums for £325! I did think long and hard about going to an unknown make and was a little apprehensive but they've been a revelation - Quiet, great in the wet, no squealing - ride as good as the Dunlops for £150 less. The Saab V6 is 275bhp through the front wheels and most premium tyres last 10 - 12k so if they last that long I'll be happy. So far Ive been delighted for the first 700 miles, I'll report back as to wear. I've read a lot of reviews by so called experts and petrolheads and there is so much rubbish and oneupmanship talked about the premium brands. These Barums keep a 275 bhp Saab on the road in a very satisfactory manner - if I was tracking the car it may be different but I'm not its normal day to day driving - so by all means believe the hype - Me? I'll toddle back to Barum a happy bunny.
