Vauxhall Meriva Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Landsail LS388 AS given 90% (225-45-17-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 500 average miles
These had been fitted on the front by the dealer before I looked at the car. No probs - they are OK. They are quiet at motorway speeds and are quite happy around town. Wet or dry they seem to do what is required. Only done 500 miles so can't comment yet on wear rate. Haven't tried them in icy conditions yet due to the mild winter. I suppose they will be like any other tyre. Ice is slippy and the car won't want to go around a corner but will want to carry on in a straight line until it leaves the road or hits something. Look out for the spirited driver coming toward you round the corner on the wrong side of the road who is convinced that it is the tyres that have turned him into a bad driver - nowt wrong with a new tyre he just can't drive very well and he's driving too fast.

Driving on mostly country roads for 12000 average miles
Terrible, fitted to 2005 Vauxhall Meriva, complained about ‘tramlining’ shortly after fitting but only sorted out 12 months later when different tyre brand fitted, no problem afterwards.

Driving on a combination of roads for 1000 average miles
Just had these fitted and driven on snow and ice over the last couple of weeks. I have a very steep drive that normally causes loss of traction at the slightest sign of snow or ice. The CrossClimate plus felt like driving on a dry road and showed no sign of traction loss either up or down. So confident on them I had to keep reminding myself of the road conditions. In a word Fantastic!. Would highly recommend.

Driving on a combination of roads for 9000 average miles
Too expensive compared to other major contributors plus
Fuel use was high with these 2014. 2015 opted for Dunlop Sport blu response.

Driving on a combination of roads for 13000 average miles
I have children X 2 and 1 Dog and these are on my MPV - 13000miles they've only lasted. Previous to this I had Michelin Energy+ and got 16000 miles but wet breaking wasn't as good. I'm not a racer and live Yorkshire Dales, they've coped with slush wet with 3" snow but driving below 20mph. Summer they're great, little noises motorway. However, I do motorway driving and wet is my concern. Do I stick with these or try Michelin Cross Climate?

Driving on a combination of roads for 1000 easy going miles
I bought these tyres to replace Dunlops and GT Radial tyres fitted to my Meriva. So far these tyres have been faultless in wet and dry conditions. Have not experienced any sliding about in any road condition. The only complaint is tyre noise which only happens at approx 40mp and on certain road surfaces. Have had Conitnental tyres in the past and had same tyre noise with them regardless of speed. I was a bit concerned after I had bought these tyres and then read the reviews about poor grip in the dry and wet etc. However no problems so far
