Volkswagen Tiuan R Line Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Kumho Ecsta PS91 given 58% (255-45-19-)
Driving on mostly motorways for 700 average miles
Had Pirelli scorpion verde originally on my SUV which were a high performing tires. Had to change due to wear and decided to give the Kumho a try. Ill be brief, this is a very sluggish tire which will make your car feel heavy and demand more power during acceleration. If you’re looking for performance tires this isnt the one. This is more of a day to day commute tire.

Writing about the Cooper Zeon CS8 given 83% (255-40-19-)
Driving on mostly motorways for 40000 average miles
I fitted Cooper Zeon's CS8 two years ago doing about 25K kilometers (17K miles) per year. They were replacing a set of Continentals and were selected due to their cheaper price tag. Although cheaper they were great tires. The side walls appear to be a bit softer than the Conti's or other tires I had before, but overall I was really happy from their grip, handling, dry or wet. Fresh rubber appears quieter compared to their end life and surely returned an very good tread life. I replaced them with a set of Goodyear Asymmetric 6. If anyone is interested in Cooper Zeon CS8 please go ahead and buy them. Just a word of advice for drivers leaving in warm-hot climates. Always look after tire pressures. These tires warm up - overheat in long trips and if you overinflate them you could easily eat away the middle part of the tires.

Writing about the Nexen N Fera RU1 given 44% (235-50-18-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 30000 average miles
Initially I received good road feedback and the tyre/road noise was bearable. The compound seems good, not too hard or soft, and much stronger than I expected since I have driven off road quite a few times with no issues. The problem I have with it now is the humming noise while driven +80km/h. Also, the steering feels much lighter and its like the tyre is disintegrating very rapidly after a year or so of use. Advantage was the price and i would definitely recommend if your car is not in use often but basically it costs half the price because it lasts half as long. The reviews online were mostly of initial use and is quite misleading.

Writing about the Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season given 70% (225-40-20-)
Driving on mostly motorways for 50000 easy going miles
got over 50K fronts worn more than rears - good grip on corners and in wet and on gravel roads - mostly run on blacktop and distance of 50 - 200 km trips. Probably have another 5K before needing replacement Thought that these low profiles are a lot noiser than Kuhmos I had on Toureg but have got used to the road noise on this Tiguan R series.

Just purchased another set for VW Tiguan. I've had these tyres on a VW Eos and a Mercedes SLK 55 AMG and cannot fault them.
They are hard wearing, I managed 20,000 miles on the rear of the SLK before I sold it and there was plenty tread left.
The tyres are quiet and although I don't drive everywhere fast, they offer excellent grip in both the wet and dry. The previous tyres on the Tiguan were also impressive in the snow for traction.

The noise over sertian b-roads are too noisy to me. However, mnay drivers have commended thos tyre for the low noise which I don't understand why. I am still looking for a quieter tyre than this one.

Writing about the Bridgestone Dueler HP Sport given 86% (235-50-18-V)
Driving on a combination of roads for 31000 easy going miles
Really good tyres lasted for 31,000 miles from new on a VW Tiguan R Line and still had 2mm left on them.
Great wet and dry grip and really good handling in all conditions.
Longest lasting tyres I've ever had and would definitely recommend.

Writing about the Continental Premium Contact 6 given 91% (235-50-18-V)
Driving on a combination of roads for 1000 easy going miles
Bought 4 new conti premium contact 6 for a '14 Tiguan R Line to replace the original Bridgestone Dueler HP's. Not done many miles on them so far but both wet and dry they are superb. Quieter than the Bridgestones and feel more compliant maybe even slightly softer perhaps. The bridgestones still had 2mm at 31,000 miles! Hope the new conti's last that long.

Driving on mostly motorways for 37000 spirited miles
I've run 4 of these on VW Tiguan auto 4motion. After 37k miles the fronts are about 1mm off the markers and the rears have about 4mm left. used all year round, winter in Scotland and summer all over the UK. Seem to have a lot of grip in the dry, and been pretty good in the wet. Mostly motorway and fast A road miles. Very impressed with these tyres, especially the wear, although the car seems quite kind on tyres. Good grip in snow and slush, but not much grip on 'polished' snow and sheet ice.

Came with car as original spec, had replace fronts afte 26000 miles, the rears have just went through a MOT with 36000 miles on them, still 1mm above legal!!!!!!
The fronts were replaced with Khumo Ecasta and 10000 miles there not much better than the rears. Will be replacing all 4 with the Dunlops. the tyre noise is very noticeably lower than the Khumo's as well.
