I was very surprised (in a bad way!) after getting these tyres fitted (even after the break-in period). With the previous Firestone tyres i had to try very hard to lock the wheels up under hard braking, with these Minerva tyres i have to try very hard NOT to lock them up on wet roads. Even when moderately braking in corners, the cars starts to skid on wet roads. Aquaplaning resistance is average, i've had Michelins that were worse, but these Minervas don't give any confidence when hitting a puddle of water. When you want to pull out on a junction in a normal manner, the wheels start to spin as they simple don't get any traction, this gets very annoying after a while.. This tyre is average on dry roads, it is stiffer than the previous Firestones so handling is ok, although this tyre lacks 'feeling' when cornering. Comfort is good and so is the wear rate and they are not super noise either, so that's not too bad. The wear is a bit difficult to measure in an honest manner as you can not drive with these tyres without spinning everywhere you go on damp/wet surfaces, so that will speed up the wear process. So to sum it up, a good tyre for people that drive like an elderly 95 year old woman that never goes above 30mph and never drives any further than the local church. NOT RECOMMENDED!

I've been driving with these tyres for 5 years and in the dry i haven't found a better gripping tyre in that price range.
I've driven my car with Yokohama S drives as well and while they are better in wet conditions i can push my car through the corners better with the Federals.
I drive a Paseo with 100hp, lowered and equipped with a front strut bar and with these tyres i can throw the car into a corner and trust that it will stick. In the wet i must be somewhat cautious though as my car only weighs 895kg and with the profile on these tyres you can't drive spirited in the wet.

Personally I'm impressed by the TR-1's, grip is probably way more than my car needs so it can be pushed to the limit quite easily. Better braking, cornering and off-the-line acceleration all round. No major drop off in the wet either, still performs well.

Snow and ice, forget it! This is 100% a summer tyre so if you plan to use all year round, nothing heroic for those four months is my advice...

I found having just the two (rotated to front and rear) with another brand was sketchy at best(grip balance issue), so I opted for four in the end and no regrets after that; made sense since these tyres are seriously good value too.
