Nexen is the worse tyre on the market!!! did around 10,000 km's on a set of new tyres and all 4 of them have flat spots. the noise that comes from the tyres while driving is so loud a deaf person can hear them.

People out there NEVER EVER let tyre sales people convince you to fit Nexen tyres on your vehicle.

Be smart and avoid disappointment!

Given 89% while driving a Mitsubishi Lancer 1.8 (Modified) (225/45 R17) on mostly country roads for 3,500 spirited miles
Found these Nexen N1000s at £40 a corner on eBay and needed some replacements for the fast-wearing Rainsport 3s that had decided to reward me with just 1.5mm of tread on the front tyres after just under 10k miles on the tyres, which in a car only pushing 143hp at the crank when it was new isn't exactly fantastic. Before the Rainsports I also had experience with Joyroad CX6s and Yokohama A10As.

Dry Grip:
These tyres grip well in the dry, they're stable and have predictable grip patterns. They're a little better in the dry than the Rainsports, and I haven't had any issues with them in this category thus far. The sidewalls are nice and stiff, so there's very little roll within the tyre itself. 9/10.

Wet Grip:
In the wet these tyres aren't as good as the Rainsports, but then again it'd be unfair comparing a high performance summer tyre to a rain-focused one. They're not scary in the wet, and for the best part they deal very well with standing water and such. But if pushing the car, you'll feel them go much earlier - it's not a sudden lack of grip though, you can definitely feel it coming. 7/10

Road Feedback:
The tyre transmits the road pretty well in my opinion. You can feel much better the nature of the road travelled. This was one of the really bad points on the original Yokohama A10A tyres that came on the car - every road felt the same and it was difficult to pre-gauge grip levels. 9/10

Progressiveness:
The tyre is really good at letting you know when grip levels are about to subside, it's one of the best points of the tyre. There's not a sudden loss of grip - it's very gradual, and you have plenty of time to react to the loss of grip. 10/10

Wear:
Not as much to say regarding the wear of the tyre. 3500 miles in the fronts are down from the surprisingly deep original 8mm to just shy of 7mm, so they're definitely wearing far better than the Rainsports. 9/10

Comfort:
Not very easy to judge as the car has had extensive exhaust and suspension modifications, but the tyres don't seem uncomfortable. Noise is fine, but can't be heard over the car anyway. 8/10


Overall I'd definitely buy the tyres again. The price is fantastic, and overall the tyres are very good. I might try a few others just to see what's out there, but these Nexens are definitely very good.

Volvo S60 2.0T (225/45 R17) on mostly country roads for 22 average miles
Fitted four of these types to my Volvo S60, previously fitted either Dunlop or Pirelli. These Nexen types are fantastic 14,000 miles a year on motorway at speed and also around town. Still plenty tread after two winters and app 20,000 miles maybe a bit more. I had them fitted and balanced at Kwik Fit and then the x4 wheel alignment and tracking at Volvo. I would highly recommend these types.

These are a great tyres... and a leap over their N3000 model, which did not have the level of dry grip and worse in rain. They are not an aggressive tyre if you are looking for such, however if you are looking for something good and a fair price, this should be an option. been used in autocross runs and have been quite satisfied.

Noisy, uncomfortable, good in dry but poor in wet. Spun the car after what started as a gentle slide turned into a fast snap-back and spin. Avoid.

Absolutely appalling tyres. Were already fitted to the front of the car (Audi A4 Avant)when I bought it - tyres were almost new.
Since then I've covered 10K miles and they are approximately half worn.
Am about to replace both however as I have discovered the inner sidewall of the OSF is split centrally around its entire circumference, exposing the carcase underneath. This damage has not been caused by impact damage or under- inflation.
I was fortunate enough to notice this damage when I was servicing the car. The consequences of a high speed blowout do not bear thinking about.
Cheap they may be but very very nasty. Maybe OK for a wheelbarrow.

GOT THESE TO REPLACE MY WORN N3000 ON FRONT OF MY SRI VECTRA. NOT AS GOOD LOOKING AS THE N3OOO. SIDE WALL A BIT PLAIN BUT ONCE BEDDED IN THEY DONT LOOK TOO BAD. GOOD GRIP IN DRY AND HAVE PERFORMED WELL IN THE RECENT WET WEATHER. THEY SEEM A BIT SPONGY ON TIGHT CORNERS. RIDE IS COMFORTABLE AND NOISE IS OK SLIGHTLY MORE THAN THE N3000,S ANYONE LOOKING FOR A CHEAP TYRE WOULDNT GO FAR WRONG WITH THESE.

the tyres seem to be a good all rounder apart from driving in the snow, not as much grip as id like when braking on covered side roads.but overall very good.

so far this tires are comparable with yokohama dna s.drive i had before, brake on dry and wet are fine, just not that much feedback compared with yokohamas, but much more confortable and quiet. as i drove only few miles yet, will revisit to finish this review later. sidewalls are little bit simple, could be a little more agressive, looks like no brand.

I have done 12000 miles with these tyres on the front and have been very pleased with all aspects. These tyres still have plenty of life in them and have just been rotated to the back and a new set of N1000`s on the front. For a budget tyre these Nexens really do take a lot of hard use and always have given a premium performance. The Focus is going as I have an S-Max 240bhp on order , I hope the Michelins give as good a performance on that as whoever gets the Focus on the Nexen. Do not be put off by the brand these tyres are as good as the best.
