Mercedes Benz C250 CGI Estate Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Petlas Velox Sport PT741 given 45% (255-35-18-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 6000 average miles
Its the third set of Petlas PT741 I bought. First two sets ok acceptable with very good prices in Hong Kong. However, the third set (bought in 2021) has merely over 10,000 km , and cracks appeared on inner sidewall of 4 tires . Contacted the local agent through the dealer, and showed them photos of the cracks ( from 2 to 4 inches long). The local agent showed photos and details to the factory and they insisted that the cracks were results of under inflation. I am a car guy who checks tire pressure on bi-monthly basis, and always and cold tire pressure roughly 10% above recommended PSI from car makers of all my cars. Upon their reply , I immediately purchased another set , different brand and replaced the potential dangerous tires No chance I would purchase this brand again

Driving on a combination of roads for 2000 average miles
Just done 2000 miles on these across Northern Europe, brilliant tyres, tested them on the autobahn and they were great , in fact very good! This trip was in the height of a very hot summer, so yet to be tested on snow and ice.

Driving on mostly town for 100 average miles
Just replaced the factory fitted Conti SSR MOE. First impression is good, and i can see why everyone are opting for these tyres. Very reassuring handling, unlike the Conti, the rear end doesn't bounce around when going across a bridge-joint around a curve at speed (> 60kmh).

Lets hope they will last longer than the Conti.

Writing about the Michelin Energy Saver given 94% (205-55-16-V)
Driving on mostly motorways for 73000 average miles
I have a merc c250 cgi (petrol) ..energy saver V runs absolutely perfect! Tyres lasted for 6 years (2years in Uk, 4 years in super-hot Cyprus)..73.000km!!! Thanks Michelin! I am going to replace them with the same tyres. Factory stopped producing them, but i did manage to find 4 brand new which are 13 months old..i dont think its a big problem. You only hear the turbo sound! Are noiseLess!

Writing about the Continental Sport Contact 5 given 66% (245-40-17-W)
Driving on mostly motorways for 10000 average miles
Very good experience with Sport Contact 3 making 18500 miles on the rear. Very similar to the OE Michelins albeit at a lower price. Replaced with Continental Sport Contact 5 which gave similar grip to the 3's except for wear rate. Very disappointed with mileage which was down to 14000, so obviously the 5's use a softer compound. Will not use again.
