Maybe my sample isn't representative to everybody. Where i live, tyres can be legaly sold as new tyres if they are up to 3 years old. (not used, but stored for that time)
And my sample was slightly over 3 years when i got them. The tyreshop then reduced the price when i noticed it.
So mine were already 3 years and a few months old when they were mounted. (due to aging the rubber might have gotten a little harder.
Positive: -low noise in dry weather, -nice to drive in the dry, almost sporty feel, -comfortable, -ok in the snow,- cost free tyre warranty from the manufacturer (for flats ect.)- low wear (but i had low wear with all tyres on that car).
Negative: -noisy on wet roads (very noticable whisteling above 60 kph), -wet grip was nowhere near to what my previous set of Dunlop winter tyres had.
-ice grip very far from my previous set of Dunlops.
The car had lot's of grip, and only on ice or snow with a lot of effort was i able to get the stability control to flash before i had these Bridgestones. But with these even when driving rather carefully on ice the stability flashed and the tyres slipped.
And i managed a 4wheel power slide on a wet slimy road. Turning from a standstill and flooring it made the car do that. Despite only having a 4cyl Diesel and permanend awd in a 2000kg car. Easy to control, but my previous winter tyres did not let go of the grip in the same situation.
Used the tyres for 2 winters and one summer, where i changed the car.

Nokian excellent on snow, also excellent on wet surfaces, but what was surprising was in the dry. The Kevlar reinforced sidewall significantly reduces body roll and steering angle. The tire is direct and precise, at high performance summer levels, making the handling fantastic. This driving pleasure has not been declared by the tests carried out so far, not even the aramid reinforced sidewall which reduces the risk of punctures and dents or bubbles, very important for an off-road vehicle. Unthinkable for an SUV winter tire until recently. I had the WR SUV3, which lasted 10 years, excellent on snow, but here the step forward is very big. Well done.

Based on your tests I got the Crossclimate SUV on my Mercedes GLK 220d 4matic. Drove 2 winters and 2 summers, thru snow, slush, wet, dry, scorching heat you name it. Outstanding performance in all conditions. And the biggest surprise was how comfortable they are. My wife noticed that immediately, said it felt like I did something to upgrade the suspension. They are also very quiet. In fact more quiet and comfortable than the Goodyear Efficient Grip I used as summer and Nokian WR3 SUV for winter.

Writing about the Nokian Hakka Blue SUV given 88% (235-60-17-V)

Bought these tyres when displeased with OE fitted Goodyear Efficient grip. The Goodyears (not marked for SUV use) seemed to have soft and easily damaged sidewalls. Sidewall bulging occured without having kurbed the tyre. Very pleased with Hakka Blue. Very quiet ride. Can hear slight rumble noise during very low speed tight turns, probably due to sharpish edges on the outer treadpattern. I expect the claimed strong 'aramid' construction will give this tyre the necessary strength to keep my SUV and family safe. Let you know later if anything unusual shows up with this tyre. They are now, October 9th, hanging on the garage wall for the winter season although I expect they could have stayed on the car until the first snowfall.

Tyres been on the GLK for 2 summer seasons. approx april 2013-oct 2013 and april 2014-oct 2014 Not used in 2015 but properly stored. Put them on rims again this week, May 3rd 2016 and the fitter showed me 2 bulges on the sidewall of one tyre. Goodyear say that I must have driven up a kurb but that's not so. May have hit a pothole at some time but I cannot remember any serious 'thump' ever occuring. Goodyear (Norway/Sweden) kindly offered to give me a new tyre for free, but I declined the offer. I spent a day "Googling" and note that several drivers comment on "soft" tyrewalls on Goodyear Efficientgrip. Note, mine are not the Performance nor the SUV version. The tyres felt fine to me while driving (only used on summer tarmac), very quiet, comfortable and responsive enough for normal driving. I have had my doubts though about the decision by Mercedes to use these as OE tyres on a 4x4 with 440 Nm torque available. I have decided that the tyres are not suitable for my vehicle type so are swapping them for Nokian Hakka Blue SUV. Hope they will inspire more confidence. A reputable tirefitter mentioned to me that the only tires he has seen with sidewall bulges problems in recent years were GY Efficient grip......and he could supply me with new ones if I wanted them! The tires may well be OK generally but I personally would not choose to have them on a medium size 4x4/Suv.

This is to inform that the tyre in the photo on this page is the OLD Grabber AT2. The Grabber AT sold today (and since about 2010) has a different tread pattern -and reduced road noise- compared to the OLD AT2. I wrote a rapport in april 2015 when my Grabber AT's were quite new. Drove them all summer 2015 in Norway until about november when I changed to my winter Conti Viking CrossContact for the colder weather. I am still pleased with the Grabber AT fitted to my MB GLK 4-matic. The only negativ is the slightly increased road noise particularly in the 40-60 km/t speed range. Cruising at 80-90 km/t on good road surfaces gives acceptable noise levels -on my car anyway. The tyres will go back on again as soon as the OAT is up to +10 degres C.

Only been on car for 2 weeks! First impressions are good. Feel almost as soft as the winter tyres they replace (Conti-Contact Viking). Naturally much softer than my usual summer tyres G-Y Efficient Grip and handling less precise but, so far these Grabber A/Ts are exactly what I was hoping for: a 'slightly rugged' appearance all-round tyre for average speed (40-80km/H) driving which give confidence on 'bumpy' gravel and grass tracks....as can be found i very rural parts of Norway. No experience on 'wear' yet so just average Points for this so far. Update later if necessary.
