Toyota Corolla T Sport E12 Tyre Review Highlights

Driving on a combination of roads for 15000 spirited miles
I bought a set of TR1s for my Corolla T-Sport to see if they could wake the car up, and boy did the car come alive. Not only is the tread pattern pleasing to the eye, it does very well in both wet and dry conditions. For a near 200 bhp FWD car, these tyres are perfect. They don't break the bank compared to Pilot Sports or P-Zeroes and they do a really good job in fast driving. Even in the wet these tyres are fantastic. They don't struggle to put the power down that badly and with the TR1s on the car, not once has the car aquaplaned through puddles or trails of water on the motorway. They also provide a good ride when cruising, which is surprising but also very nice, as you'd expect. I can't blame the wear as I have been driving hard - I recently rotated the fronts to the rear as they are near the legal limit. I recently bought a set of MX5 alloys to go onto the car, and once they are refurbished, I'll be getting another set of TR1s with a 45 profile to keep the Corolla's new found underdog handling.

TL;DR - Very good performance tyre for less than Pilot Sports or P-Zeroes

Easily the worst set of tyres I’ve ever had on a car, fine in the dry but once it’s wet you have to be very careful you will lose grip very easily.
You can almost feel the car trying to lose grip as you go round any sort of slight bend in wet conditions. On a wet roundabout all you get is major understeer unless you drive around really slowly.
Spent the extra few quid on a decent set of tyres.

Decent wet/dry grip, nice looking tyre. Racing pedigree around the brand led me to buy. Lasted 14 months/8k miles before they cracked and were deemed no longer fit for purpose. Not great value for money.

A good all-round tyre for the somewhat sportier driver. The tyre grips decently and has some good feedback. They are nowhere as sporty as Pilot Sports, but they corner nicely. They handle well in the dry and decent in the wet. The tyres have never lost traction or aquaplaned in any situation I've been in. The only bit lacking was some highway stability. I've had pretty good fuel consumption and wear results throughout the years I've had these on. They have lost 3,5 mm of profile since autumn 2017 with frequent pressure checks. The sidewall does start to crack a bit and the rubber compound has lost most of its freshness by now.

I found these fitted on my car when I bought it. It handles acceptable on a dry, well-paved road surface. Straight line acceleration is commendable of tyres in this performance and price range. Cornering on dry surfaces is also positive, but nothing to brag about.

These tyres handle less than acceptable on wet surfaces and make me uncomfortable driving during moderate rain fall. They feel like they can slide any time during cornering on roundabouts. I have to decelerate firmly when approaching roundabouts, dry and (especially) wet.

Thread wear is great. They haven't worn much over time I had them installed. Not much more than I would find worth mentioning.

I wouldn't buy these again, because of the astonishing difference in performance compared to premium tyres.
