Writing about the Triangle WinterX TW401 given 36% (205-55-16-)
Driving on mostly town for 5000 average miles
TW401... This tire is ok on dry frozen asphalt, not too bad at a thin layer of fresh snow, but in everything else (wet, dry with warmer temperatures, a bit more snow like 2cm+ and it doesn't matter if it's wet snow or dry) it's garbage. 0 confidence compared to Hankook, Yokohama, Sailun, Falken, Maxxis, Taurus(Kormoran)... 2nd worst i've ever driven, absolute worst was Westlake, but that was like 10 years ago. You can think if it's so bad, maybe it will last... – It doesn't, it's below average. You pay less and you get way less than expected, one of the worst value for money. This is my experience, yours could be different.

After reading the reviews I decided to buy this tyre and I am extremely happy with the choice. The tyre feels very grippy, wet handling is also very manageable. The only negative thing is about my choice in tyre size, as now I would like a wider tyre. However, given the 225 width its still a very confidence giving tyre.

Had these fitted to the front wheels the handling was Good also the grip on the wet was excellent but after 7000 miles already down to 3mm tread on the tyres for the price on my car I would not use them again.

Amazingly poor wear, very disappointed. Tyres were great when new but all 4 were down to just 2mm after 14 months (around 12,000 miles travelled). All 4 wheels had been aligned and my driving style is not agressive. Grip was good when new, but obviously worsened as tread decreased. Quite a hard ride too, not very comfortable.

I've had these fitted to my Volvo d5185 estate car for around 10 of the past 14 months (I fit winter tyres over the colder months) and they are now down to 2mm tread depth, having covered just 12,000 miles.
I always keep the pressures at 36psi and the tyres have worn nice and evenly. These were bought based on their high mileage claim, to say I'm disappointed is stating the obvious ! They gripped very well in both the wet and dry when new, but this performance has deteriorated slightly but noticeably over time. I consider these a mid priced range tyre, though based on the low mileage they have covered I would have been just as happy with the equally well performing Chinese 3A P606 tyres I had fitted previously, though there is a £50 price difference for a set of 4 tyres. I will try a premium brand such as Dunlop or Goodyear next to see if they provide better mileage.

Awful tyre. Grip was almost non existent. Rear end of family estate started sliding out on a slow large roundabout and I'm a cautious driver! Wife and family weren't impressed. I've never experienced a tyre this poor, they adversely affect your confidence driving. Had them removed for Sailun Attrezo's (impressive tyres). These are a false economy, steer well clear.

These combined with some Fullrun tyres on the front (I tried switching them around but always the same tyre on the same axle) show them to be a truly dreadful tyre with very poor wet weather performance. My car came with these, fitted by the previous owner for whom "a tyre is a tyre": wrong.

Fitted to a torquey car, these had negligible wet grip and couldn't put any power down at all: junctions became a nightmare and cornering grip was dreadful. They would even lose traction accelerating at 60mph in the wet. I am no boy racer, driving a Volvo V70 D5 but these tyres are borderline dangerous regardless of how light-footed you are.

I am not of the 'must buy premium' persuasion and regularly use Hankook and Barum tyres - these are a different matter. Regardless of price, no sane person would compromise safety to the extent that these 'black circles of death' ask you to.

At the risk of repeating, I am not heavy footed or a boy racer and I 'drive to the conditions': these tyres are however, bordering on dangerous. You have been warned.

Driving on a combination of roads for 3 easy going miles
Put four of these on in anticipation of the Winter. No snow or ice to test them thus far but lots and lots of rain! Have driven on all types of rubber in my 40+ years of driving and have to say that these tyres are in a league of their own in the wet and rival the grip of Pirelli P Zeros in the dry. All round I feel very safe with these tyres - very grippy in the wet and the dry and produce very little noise. Not yet tested in the snow but even without this experience I'd buy them again. They back up the marketing hype that launched them. Will report back on snow performance if the Winter throws any our way.
