215/60 17 Tyre Review Highlights

Linglong Grip Master CS rated 87% while driving a Volkswagen T Roc

Great tyre. For price, the best!

Continental EcoContact 6 rated 41% while driving a Dacia Dacia Duster 2023
Driving on mostly town for 426 easy going miles
At one time Continental would proudly have displayed "Engineered in Germany" on the sidewall. Not anymore and with the EcoContact 6 I am not surprised as it is a terrible tyre!
My new Dacia Duster had them fitted and I found them to have a very 'Wooly' feel about them along with very poor wet grip. I class myself as 'Captain Slow' when driving but these tyres inspired zero confidence. At just 426 mile covered they had ONLY 5mm tread!!!
I bit the bullet and purchased a full set of Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 and the difference is like between night and day.
Whatever happended to Continental Tyres??

Avon AS7 Gen 2 rated 78% while driving a Subaru 2010 Forester Diesel
Driving on a combination of roads for 25000 spirited miles
Late mid update, AS7has been a decent all round tyre for my Forester, wearing very well, minimal tyre pressure adjustments, a negative is they can be noisy on some surfaces, but work well on the Forester on dry and wet surfaces.

Nexen N Blue HD Plus rated 91% while driving a Nissan Qashqai
Driving on a combination of roads for 57 average miles
I have been driving my car with these tires for more than 90 000 km. My first set of four tyres lasted about 40 000 km without any problem. The second set is also now nearing the end of its life after more than 50,000 km and will soon be replaced by a third of the same model. I find the tyres comfortable, if a little noisy. On dry or wet roads the car stays stable and follows the set trajectory steadily.

After so many kilometres on these tyres, I have only had one occasion when I had to reduce speed due to a slight slip when climbing a mountain because the temperatures had dropped sharply and after a short snowfall the road was slippery and icy in places.

Taking into account the low price of this tyre model and their stable and increasing quality over the years I can only warmly recommend it to all colleagues on the road.

Continental EcoContact 6 rated 29% while driving a Peugeot 2008 (2021)
Driving on a combination of roads for 18000 easy going miles
These tyres should not be put on cars purchased in Great Britain, no good for our climate with roads cold and wet most of the year, mine only lasted 15 months

Kumho Ecsta HS52 rated 99% while driving a Nissan X Trail
Driving on a combination of roads for 31068 average miles
I think the tests listed are spot on. What I was impressed with for a summer tyre was the grip they had in the wet on an SUV. Never once did if sense them losing grip on wet roundabouts or anywhere else. They are a bit pricey though at almost $1000 fitted in Australia. Wearing wise, I’m in need of a new set of boots after 2yrs and 50k/klms.

Hankook Kinergy 4S2 rated 96% while driving a Vauxhall Mokka X
Driving on mostly motorways for 15000 easy going miles
Very good tyre with plenty of grip. Managed to grab a set of 4 at a good price. Covered over 15,000 miles before parting with the car and they still had over 4mm of tread remaining. Only downside was that they produced a bit more road noise and slightly worse fuel economy compared to the previously fitted tyres. However, a small price to pay for much better grip in the typical wet and cold British weather.

Bridgestone Dueler HP Sport rated 56% while driving a Citroën C4
Driving on mostly town for 18000 average miles
Today I bought new winter tires and the mechanic warned me about the wear on my summer tires (Bridgestone Dueler HP Sport). They haven't even reached 30.000 kilometers and yet the wear is kind of extreme. Performance wise, i think they are ok but i don't have a powerful car so i couldn't test the limits. The tire noise is kind of a problem. But as i said the main problem is the wear.

Goodride SU318 HT rated 50% while driving a Tesla Model 3 standard plus
Driving on track for 4000 easy going miles
The tires that came with the new BYD Yuan Up feel very unsafe, especially on wet surfaces. They seem to slip easily on grass and even on wet roads. Despite my very conventional driving style—never accelerating past 100 km/h—the tires feel like they are about to lose grip on regular turns at speeds above 80 km/h. On some occasions, even when starting the car from a stationary position, such as leaving the garage with minimal force, the tires feel like they are slipping. I would not purchase these tires again.

Hankook Ventus Prime 4 rated 83% while driving a Ford Mondeo Titanium 2.0 TCDI
Driving on a combination of roads for 15000 average miles
Excellent tyre. As a summer tyre I normally use them from end of March to mid-November since here in Central Europe we usually have Novembers with no freezing temperatures so a summer tyre can perform relatively acceptable down to 7-10 degC. These tyres gives confidence and peace of mind, good grip, very good comfort, low noise, short braking distances, very good handling. This November is colder than usual and under 4-5 degC the tyre begins to show weaknesses as the compound is getting harder in cold. Noise increases and looses a certain amount of grip that warns you it's time to change. Still, runs safe just you get the feeling of these are not the circumstances the have been designed for.
The only weak point is the wear. Two seasons (20.000+ kms) and more than half of the tread went away. So I expect 30-35 k kms as lifespan. My former Goodyear lasted longer.
