255/35 19 Tyre Review Highlights

Kormoran Kormoran UHP rated 79% while driving a Mercedes Benz C63 AMG
Driving on mostly town for 4000 spirited miles
I use this on my W204 C63 and they are great. Love the thick sidewall and even though some websites say this is a summer tyre, I think it handles great in the wet even on London roads. Very comfortable and in the dry they stick well. My car is pushing 520 horsepower to the rear wheels and these grip extremely well. A lot of consumers dont know that KORMORAN is a company owned my Michelin and are not some super budget company. I have been using kormoran on my C63 for the last 4 years and change rears about twice a year. For front tyres I change them roughly once every 2 years.

All in all I would highly recommend these tyres

Uniroyal RainSport 5 rated 28% while driving a BMW 325d M Sport
Driving on a combination of roads for 650 average miles
Terrible tyre. There is no steering feedback, anything over 60mph you're constantly correcting the steering to keep it in a straight line- i went and had a 4 wheel alignment to check it wasn't out. Tyres still terrible.

The grip is also equally bad in wet and dry conditions. My car is breaking traction over taking on dual carridge ways and motorways. Pulling away isnt so bad but still not great.

Removed after 650 miles and taken a loss. Would rather fit acceleras

Michelin Pilot Sport 5 rated 94% while driving a Audi TT RS
Driving on mostly country roads for 1000 spirited miles
These tires are amazing, they combine road comfort and high performance. The sidewall is a little softer than I would like, but increasing tire pressure to 40 psi mostly negates this. The grip is incredible, so predictable and consistent, dry or wet, it just hooks onto the road and doesnt let go. The grip gets even better when the tires heat up. Car feels very stable under braking and hard acceleration. Definitely a good choice for a high performance car that doesnt really go on the race track much, great for normal roads. 10/10 would get a speeding ticket again.

Toyo Proxes Sport rated 59% while driving a Audi TT RS
Driving on a combination of roads for 0 spirited miles
Bought a TTRS with these tires on and I wasnt impressed. Not sure why would anyone put tires like these on a high performance car. Its fine in the drive and warm, but when it rains the car suddenly snaps and end up going sideways around the roundabout and traction control lights up even in 3rd gear. Taking these off and replacing them with Michelin PS this week

Bad under wet braking, had to do an emergency brake and the car veered to the side, never had that happen before. Do not feel confident in the wet with these. Dont buy, they were already fitted to my car when I got it.

Continental SportContact 7 rated 94% while driving a Audi S4
Driving on mostly town for 10000 average miles
I’d choose these tires any day of the week. I’ve tried the Michelin PS4, Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6, and Bridgestone Potenza S001, but none of them come close.

Driving Experience
I spend 90% of my time driving in town at an average pace of 50-80 km/h, and these tires deliver the perfect balance. They’re not overly harsh yet still offer excellent road feedback, making daily driving a smooth and enjoyable experience.

Performance
On mountain roads, these tires shine. The grip is noticeably superior to the PS4 and F1A6, giving me the confidence to drive spiritedly. While I haven’t taken them to the track, their performance in dynamic driving scenarios has been exceptional.

Highway Comfort
On the highway, these tires are significantly quieter, with much less resonance compared to others in this range. They also handle wet conditions beautifully, providing reliable grip on rainy or damp roads without any surprises.

Durability
The biggest criticism I’ve seen about these tires is wear. However, after driving 10,000 miles, I’ve noticed no drop in performance, and I expect to get another 10,000 miles from them.

Value for Money
Best of all, they’re more affordable than the Michelin PS4S in my region. Considering their performance, comfort, and cost, I honestly don’t see a reason to choose any other competitive tire.

Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF3 rated 80% while driving a BMW m2
Driving on a combination of roads for 3000 spirited miles
Genuinely seriously impressive tyre. I decided to use these as a winter tyre as I live in Scotland.

In dry conditions manages to have acceptable levels of grip in a straight line, slight wheel spin sometimes but cannot complain since the M2 is RWD 365bhp.

Very strong tyre in the dry and super progressive, really lets you know when it does begin to slip when doing spirited driving. A big strong point as these tyres still allow the vehicle to be driven in a sporting manner.

In the wet they are okay for wet straight line grip, it spins up pretty easy in 1st and 2nd gear. Regardless still catches grip eventually, the handling in the wet is also okay, nothing special and is nicely progressive when the car does begin to slip away while cornering.

They are also amazing at aquaplane resistance, never met a puddle that caused the car to lose control, and I’ve been through a good few storms on the motorway with standing water, been through large street puddles/low floods. Can really have confidence driving through very poor storm like rainy conditions

In the snow these tyres are brilliant, couldn’t complain at all. Was able to drive this powerful rear wheel drive without any problems in multiple inches of snow. I could rely on cornering grip (great and predictable snow drifts) it stopped well in the snow too and could go up and down snowy hills without a sweat. Genuinely very impressed and gives me great confidence for poor weather conditions.

In icy/frosty conditions, they seem to be great, pretty much felt the similar to the wet weather grip levels. Tyres seem pretty good in minus temperatures, won’t blow your socks off but will absolutely keep you safe.

All in all, after being able to test the tyres over a period of 3000 miles through various winter and mild conditions, I will only buy these going forward even with the price premium.

I feel like it allows my performance car to still be a performance car in the colder months. It also gives me peace of mind driving through the most adverse of conditions.

Bridgestone Potenza Sport rated 96% while driving a Audi S5
Driving on a combination of roads for 5000 spirited miles
The tire as a whole is very nice and reliable, but care must be taken because the grip on dry when the tire is cold is less. However, once it reaches operating temperature the feeling is wonderful ! The feedback from the road and the feel in a corner is second to none. In the wet it also performs super. Just be careful on cold tarmac with cold tyres - then there is a loss of grip. I've been driving the tyres for about 8,000km, but it feels like the wear is a bit faster than I'd like.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 rated 83% while driving a BMW 325i M Sport
Driving on a combination of roads for 18000 average miles
I loved these tyres as soon as they went on the car, night and day difference from the OEM Bridgestone RFs that are meant for my E92 325i (those were awful tyres). I'm so glad I went with the F1 A5's as it's been a really pleasurable and safe ~3 years. I've done a mixture of driving, but at it's my daily it will most often be town/motorway. However I do enjoy driving down a country lane every few weeks (no track). The dry grip has been incredible and the feedback through the wheel is sharp, even more impressive in my opinion was the wet grip which really inspired confidence even around corners. Aquaplaning was sensational; on many occasions I had done long road trips around the UK in torrential rain, often from London to Dartmoor, Devon. On one occasion I was doing a healthy speed on the motorway with an M135i driving alongside me in seriously torrential rain till the point where they aquaplaned into the hard shoulder and my car continued thanks to the A5's. On top of that I did several spirited drives from London to Devon in the peak of winter in a RWD BMW on icy conditions that went as smooth as anything.

I really can't fault these tyres as they were so affordable and impressive. The only downsides for me were that they aren't particularly good looking tyres and they go quite "dry" in appearance fairly quickly so frequent tyre shine is needed. In terms of wear I guess around 18k miles is decent as the rears are only now getting to the limit and I guess I tend to power off the line more frequently than others, I've also done a couple of donuts over the years but only a handful of times.

I'm now considering going for Continental SportContact 7 in 255/30/19 (stock) or 265/30/19 for the rear replacement but I worry the wet grip will be lost.

Pirelli P Zero PZ4 rated 54% while driving a BMW M240i
Driving on mostly town for 6500 spirited miles
These were the tires that came on my 2024 BMW M240i xDrive. While they do alright they leave a lot to be desired. I just cant seem to trust them. They always handle the job with no drama when loaded up, but it takes a big of G to really get there. They just feel like they’re asleep until a threshold of high grip. On hard launch they dont chirp or bother they just go, hard stops the same. They are serious under pressure but almost always napping off the line. They are eh okay.

Michelin Pilot Sport 5 rated 83% while driving a Mercedes Benz C250
Driving on mostly town for 1500 average miles
I bought the PS5s to replace run flat Pirelli P-Zeros, as I wanted tyres that would be more comfortable and last longer. I started off a bit disappointed as they felt less grippy and made the steering quite vague. But after a thousand kms they have changed and now prove to have great levels of grip. They are quiet, ride well (noticeably better than the old run flats) and that sidewall looks fantastic. The Pirellis had slightly more grip and better steering feel, but the expected longevity of the Michelins is worth the trade-off. Only thing I wish they had would be better rim protection as it's quite narrow.
