235/35 20 Tyre Review Highlights

Bridgestone Potenza Sport rated 90% while driving a BMW X2M35i
Driving on a combination of roads for 12000 spirited miles
I own a BMW X2 M35i. 225kw 450nm. It has power to burn, now it has the tyres to match it. Dry grip it’s a fair bit ahead of the Pirelli Zero, it is way ahead in the wet grip! I use to race motorcycles, so I push the car to its limit a lot. The car has a limited slip differential on the front and the steering feedback is fantastic. Braking in dry and wet conditions is sensational. I can’t understand why some reviews bag the mileage out of these, I have done almost 20k and rotated them only last week as the fronts were scuffing up on the edges compared to the rears. 30k is achievable, easily. 40psi on the front and 38psi on the rear keeps things in balance. Comfort is average, but if you want comfort buy a S class Mercedes with touring tyres. Would I buy these again, hell yes!

Hankook iON Evo rated 83% while driving a Tesla Model 3 Performance
Driving on a combination of roads for 300 average miles
I had the Hankook ION Evo tires installed to replace the stock Pirelli P Zero (PZ4) Elect tires on my Tesla Model 3 Performance.
There are pros and cons compared to the stock Pirelli tires:

Pros:

- Quieter
- More comfortable
- Better grip in rain and wet conditions
- Slightly lighter steering feel
- Slightly easier acceleration straight of the line
- More efficient (+/- 1% less battery consumption per trip)

Cons:

- Steering feel and response are less direct
- Grip during hard cornering is not great
- Overall sportiness is diminished

For the daily (very) sporty driver, it may not be recommended, but for anyone outside this category, it is definitely worth considering.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S rated 90% while driving a Porsche Boxster 2.5
Driving on mostly country roads for 100 spirited miles
Just replaced Pirelli P zeroes, front and rear on Boxster 718 GTS, with Michelin PS4S . What a difference, it has transformed the ride without affecting the handling. Couldn’t be happier !!!

Imperial Ecosport 2 rated 43% while driving a Vauxhall Insignia CDTI SRI 160
Driving on a combination of roads for 3000 average miles
My tyres are now at 5mm and I find the grip on corners very poor. I can feel the tyres trying so hard to grip the road. A few times my traction control was coming on. These tyres are good for the first 2,000/3,000 but then not. Also heavy breaking the tyres don't grip. I will not be buying these tyres again.

Pirelli P Zero rated 0% while driving a Tesla Model 3 Performance
Driving on track for 6000 average miles
I had a blowout with this tyre on my new Tesla model 3 after 6000 miles. For me no Pirelli Zero ever more.

Bridgestone Potenza Sport rated 80% while driving a Tesla Model 3 Performance
Driving on a combination of roads for 10000 average miles
I had already reviewed this tyres in my early mileage and now im going to do my second review about them. After almost 15.000km i can say that they are really noisy compared to my previews Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. Although they are better at weat roads and you will feel the difference. I´m doing this second review because i have an important point that i need to mention: If you have an electric car you will notice a huge increase at your consumptions. My normal consumption(with the PS4S) was 202wh/km and now i´m having 230wh/km with the same drive behavior. Thats more 3kwh per 100km. (its like having a heater working all the time). The tyres are amazing but choose ones with less rolling resistance if you have an electric vehicle. Regards

Pirelli P Zero PZ4 rated 42% while driving a Tesla Model 3 Performance
Driving on a combination of roads for 1000 average miles
These replaced a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S with 25k miles heading towards the wear limit. Despite being new, they feel far less secure than the tyres they replaced. Understeer at roundabouts, sudden grip loss mid-corner (both ends at the same time, so at least that was balanced). Always feel insecure when it's damp. I'll grant that it's winter and they're a summer tyre, but all season tyres aren't an option for company car drivers in the UK and it's not that cold. It's the fact that they're so much worse than the Michelins that means I wouldn't consider another set.

Bridgestone Potenza Sport rated 98% while driving a Kia Motors XCEED, 1.4 T GDI, MT, 2020
Driving on mostly country roads for 500 spirited miles
I always had my cars on UUHP tires from Michelin, GY, Conti, and Bridgestone over the past 20+ years. This year I opted for Potenza Sport and I really love them. I can see that I made the right choice - the grip is simply relentless and fantastic feedback from the tires. Aquaplaning is also fantastic, considering how much faster I was able to push the car with confidence on autobahn during the pouring rain. Straight tracking is precise and the car is completely responsive to every input. Overall they feel like PZERO PZ4, but on a higher level in each discipline. Awesome tires and I recommend them 100%

Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S rated 79% while driving a Tesla Model 3 Performance
Driving on mostly motorways for 25000 average miles
These tyres came with the car and to be fair to them, they are very good. Only at the end of life did the all wheel drive with 400hp or so break traction. Cornering was very precise, confidence inspiring in the wet and dry. Even in the cold they performed well. They lasted 25k by rotating them half way. Mine were the acoustic type with a foam band inside. I felt this made zero difference and some report problems getting a repair. I repair my own with tyre strings and had no issues with further loss of pressure. The problem I have is justifying £800 for a new set where the tyre I have gone to is £160 a set and certainly doesn't have a quarter of the performance. From previous experience the cheaper brand last longer, perform to at least 75% of the Michelin and since I don't tend to drive like an utter t*t I haven't oranges a car in over 25 years.

Nokian Snowproof P rated 91% while driving a Tesla Model 3 Performance
Driving on a combination of roads for 2000 spirited miles
Very pleased with these tyres on my Tesla Model 3 Performance. Rock solid on snow and ice and in cold, wet conditions. A little more noisy than my Summer Michelin Pilot Sports (only at slower speeds) but to be expected.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S rated 83% while driving a Unknown Unknown
Driving on mostly motorways for 18000 spirited miles
The Michelin Pilot Sport 4S are excellent summer performance tires. They handle spirited driving and acceleration and hold up well in the corners. I am constantly surprised by the minimal wear I find after nearly 20000 miles. Road noise is not the best and the comfort is a bit on the rough side though I would expect as such from a performance oriented tire. That said, grip and confidence in the rain is excellent. I did have occassion to drive around the block in snow ... not a good idea. Snow/Ice + these tires = dangerous ; but again, would not expect differently from a summer performance focused tire. These are a great purchase and, unless Michelin unleashes a Pilot Sport 5, these would be a great choice to buy again.
