Honda crv Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Michelin Latitude Sport 3 given 93% (235-55-19-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 66 average miles
I had these types with the branda new Honda CRV 1.5 Turbo in 2019. Tyres date 21 week 2018, type 101Y. In 5 years and 4 months I did over 66,000 km. Now I started noticing some wear on the surface. I had mix use of the car, dual carriageways and other roads that are not very smooth. I am very happy and happy with the economy too. I had at least 5-6 nail punctures too.

Driving on mostly motorways for 1000 average miles
Definitely a mushy feeling tire compared to the OEM tires that came with my Honda CRV (Goodyear Assurance). Definitely a touring focused tire because it had very good comfort and road noise compared to my old tires.

Overall, Great Tyres. Less noisy than BFGs, Nearly as economical as normal road tyres, Fantastic in the wet.

Driving on mostly town for 20000 average miles
Got a Honda CRV with factory 19inch wheels and installed the PS 4 SUV but after 30K kms, they have become very very loud - bordering on the dreaded wheel bearing noise. Maybe its me, but every Michelin tire I've purchased before (Primacy & PS 4SUV) they have turned out to be very noisy. All the other scores are fine, it is a daily driver in city driving with occasional (1 or 2 per year) long trips (+8hr distances). Being a 105 load rating, choices are more limited down here in Aus, but I'm leaning to Bridgestone next time around.

Bought these in Jan 2022, had to replace the front 2 in Nov 2023, and the back 2 in June 2024. Doing very low mileage, so these would seem to wear out quite quickly.

These tyres came with the car when I bought it and they were pretty much new. In the dry these tyres were alright, they provided a reasonable level of grip. You could get them to spin a little and squeal when you needed to get going from a junction, but it wasn't too bad at all. The dry stopping distance was okay, but it was a bit below average in this regard and any mid range tyre would be much better. The handling in the dry was okay, but it didn't feel too precise or grippy. So overall the dry performance is okay for normal driving, but I'd want something a little grippier for sure.

Now for the wet. The grip is not good at all. The tyres would judder at anything but very gentle acceleration, even then they'd struggle for grip. The car felt like it was really lacking grip. If you set off a bit swiftly from a junction the tyres would squeal loudly and cause the car to judder hard. The handling was poor, with a lot of understeer and traction loss at modest speeds. The wet stopping distance wasn't great. If you live in the UK like me, wet grip is absolutely a must, we spend the best part of 300 days being rained on!

These tyres are very noisy and the fuel economy was noticeably worse with these tyres fitted. The general comfort these tyres provided was alright, however my Toyo's are much comfier and very quiet! The wear on these wasn't noticeable at the maybe 2.5k I used them for, however I can imagine they'd be relatively average in wear levels.

I decided to sell them and change to some Toyo Proxes CF2s, which were far superior in every regard.

Here is a Good Review - This is a "Directional" tire. Rotation is front to back/back to front. If your car has 4 wheel alignment then this is a great tire. Sipeing on this tire is incredible (we hit a Rain trench at night (4 or more inches deep) and the tracking stayed straight even though there was no road surface contact). My car is a 2020 Honda CRV AWD (this is the third CRV AWD I've owned). This is the first time I've used a directional tire. I'm a moderate push driver - nothing at crazy level but maybe a drift on a wet surface or coasting down off the Blue Ridge to the town below (Oh Yeh). the car has 135k and 8mm rear / 6mm front pads left (Honda Service just measured). The tires replaced OEM's at around 45-50k so ..... 80k and 3/32nds today. Even now the Michelin Grip along with Sidewall give is acceptable (I wouldn't trust a defensive road evasion above 45 or 50). Now the bad - this tire tracks "Straight" to the exclusion of the steering. This means that your car may think it's going straight but the tires will make it go straight and I believe that with the newer AWD vehicles this is a detriment to alignment. I've had 3 Alignments for these tires. I've never had more than two even on my Restomod F150. I attribute this to the AWD and Honda LKA. The Older AWD Trucks with Lockouts had tire wear problems due to the Inside/Outside Turn ratios. And lastly this tire is a "Howler". On real asphalt roads its quiet but on the newer composite roadways it's 5-10db above road noise in the car and gets louder once you reach the "tattletales" on the tire. So Safety and Long life are the trade-offs to some road noise. I suspect the noise and alignment issues would diminish with a 2WD car. And if Vehicle is over 5 - 6 years old I might reconsider - think suspension bushings and bearings. Thank you by Steven J Third Grade

Second set of these tires recommended by the Honda dealer. Replaced at 32,700 on the first and now 13 months and 28,000 on the second. Not even close to the 70,000 miles they claim.

Driving on a combination of roads for 5000 average miles
Excellent winter/Snow and ice and wet tyre, performance, very responsive too (I immediately noticed the response change, changing from "Saferich" summer tyre)
These sottozero 3 tyres are expensive, but they Really deliver in the winter,
I will keep to These tyres for many winters to come
