SEAT Ibiza TSi Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Nexen Winguard Snow G WH2 given 72% (185-60-15-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 1500 average miles
I was using nokian wr4 before, I didn't see a big difference between them, wet braking and wet grip were not very satisfying, but snow and ice grip was good.

Bought my seat ibiza 2019 1.5 TSI FR with 38200km, i changed the tyres at about 38500, the car has now 48000 so about 10000Km made with these new tyres. My car was previously fitted with Nexen Summer tyre which were noisy and not confortable but had almost 40K KM so pretty used. When i got the new Vector, the Confort and noise changed dramatically, no more tyre noise and much better confort (absorption of bumps in the road) The Ibiza FR has pretty firm suspension and 17" wheels so it's kinda hard but those GoodYear tyres help mitigate this issue. I live in Auvergne in France, so it's mostly Mountain/Country Roads and Highway. On the dry on country roads at high speeds :p, the tyres are glued to the road and it feels super safe. On the Wet it's hard to make these loose grip, it really holds well. Did not tried snow yet. As for the wear, the tyres looks almost new at 10k KM. Bought these on suggestion of your Youtube Videos 1 year ago, and i'm really pleased with these Goodyear's

I reviewed these when I first got them now 500+ miles later I am even more pleased. I have to say straight away that they get scored down for rolling resistance - yet I have had my own best MPG results on some recent journeys so really not an issue. Its the important safety areas that impress me - Wet & Dry handling, nice steering and goes where you point it, good braking and traction in the wet - happy with tyre wear this far. On this car I started with the Conti PC5 these were fine but a little more bumpy and just OK in the wet. VG in the dry. Then I tried the Dunlop Sp Sport Blue response which had a nicer ride and a bit better handling in the wet - about the same in the dry - traction was occasionally an issue in the wet. The Falkens exceed both of these tyres all round and are noticably cheaper

Newly Purchased, but I can tell straight away these are definitely good. I am pretty sensitive to small differences etc. These are the 3rd brand tried on my current car and already seem great for it. Previous tyres also suited well but were a tad prone to loosing traction in the wet as well as a little ABS reliant braking in the wet - the Falken's immediately seemed better in this area. Comfort is much the same as the previous Dunlop Blue response - I will have to see about wear in a year or so. Road feed back is also good I feel like I am safe with these. I had a previous model Falken ion a previous car so know they are going to be pretty good. Reading loads of reviews I was befuddled by many good tyres with a worrying problem area, eg poor wet braking - these get good reports on all but Rolling resistance. I have a pretty economical car and initial differences are not noticeable. In heavy rain it felt very safe.

Reasonable OE tires that came with my Seat Ibiza MY2020. Nothing spectacular but certainly not bad. Unfortunately one of them got damaged and it was incredibly hard to get a replacement, availability is pretty bad at least where I live. I had to sell the rest and upgrade all 4 tires to an Efficientgrip Performance 2, seperate review on that one.

Good grip on dry and wet, but average grip on snow. Wears less than summer Bridgestone tyre. Excellent tyre for price.

Totally terrible tyre. Bought because of encouraging tyre tests results but regret it every single mile. Maybe in larger sizes they perform better, but at 195/55 its a tyre to avoid, especially on wet surfaces. At least wear is fantastic, but I’d rather see those tires finally wear out 🙈

I bought these to replace the orig Continental PC 5's which were pretty good all round. I have to say I just prefer the Dunlops in all areas!! The conti's were good but a little noisy and bumpy and actually at the limit of cornering they would skip as if the square shoulders slipped. The Dunlops are slightly more rounded and seem to stay planted a bit better. They are quieter and smoother over potholes and speed bumps. Having Dunlops in the front and Conti's on the back made the difference noticeable over rough surfaces and speed bumps.
So, in short, I feel the Dunlops are better suited to this car

I normally buy decent mid-range tyres like Hankook, Kumho and sometimes Dunlop, currently driving a 2019 Seat Ibiza 1.0TSI 95PS.

These Nexen tyres came factory fitted on my new Seat Ibiza. Have to say I'm amazed that Seat have the gall to fit rubbish like these - last factory fit tyres that were this bad were Pirelli P6000 on a Corsa 15 years ago.

The Nexens feel fine, no complaints there, and seem to be able to brake decently enough, but they must have been designed with California in mind, because they just cannot do corners or wet roads.

Perfectly dry motorway exit roundabout on a 20C day, the pure power (all 95hp) of my Ibiza was able to totally overwhelm the Nexens, and I wasn't even accelerating hard, just making a smart exit from the roundabout. Lots of understeer and ESP intervention. This same roundabout could be negotiated at much more speed in my old Megane fitted with Bridgestone runflats. Yes, runflats.

As for wet grip, if you're an adrenelin junky, then the Nexens are for you. Really, driving these on a wet day is like driving a three wheeled shopping trolly, the car just goes wherever it likes.

Nexen is a new name for the old Woosung brand - they made terrible tyres in the 80s and 90s, and really they haven't improved as far as I can tell. Carrying on the Ditchfinder nickname.

I'll likely be getting real tyres fitted to the car before the really wet weather starts - annoying on a car with less than 800 miles on the clock. Likely go for Dunlop BlueResponse which I've had great service from in the past.
