275/35 18 Tyre Review Highlights

Bridgestone Potenza RE 71RS rated 94% while driving a Nissan 370Z
Driving on track for 400 spirited miles
I race a 370z in time attack up in Ontario, Canada and these tires get overlooked by a lot of drivers that solely run CR-S and I can’t understand why. Over my last two years, 13 races, with about a handful of lapping days I’ve went through two sets and have already bought my third set. The tires in the dry, handle phenomenally!! The cars becomes very predictable pre corner and in corner and you can really put the power down on exit! I have never had issues with heat soaking. They do like higher hot psi, I run fronts around 35psi and rears around 34psi (depending on air and track temps as well). They build up speed and hold consistent lap times once at full hot operating temps, usually my first lap is slowest and 3rd lap is fastest. Tremendous amounts of grip as well throughout a race day.
Wet driving on road and track are amazing as well! On the wet road they’re just any other ordinary tire with lots of grip (provided they have tread still), on a wet track (which I haven’t had may wet track days) they held up better than I could have imagined, held grip throughout the wet until the track started drying off and never once encountered any under or oversteering. I was about 3-5 seconds slower in the wet vs dry time. On wet tracks I’d run 37psi front and 36psi rear.
Overall amazing longer lasting tire for a great price.

Yokohama ADVAN APEX V601 rated 83% while driving a Honda Civic Type R
Driving on a combination of roads for 1600 spirited miles
Drive for some 1,600 miles, daily driven and spirit. Very good grip in dry, responsive in hard curves. In wet the performance is precise and some aquaplane but manageable, it's a 275 wide. The sound road is normal for performance tire with this trade ware. Still testing

Bridgestone Potenza Sport rated 90% while driving a BMW E39 M5
Driving on a combination of roads for 3000 spirited miles
I run original E39 M5 wheels with oe size 245/40 R18 front and 275/35 R18 rear. Bridgestone Potenza Sport on both axles. I can't praise these tires enough. The grip is insane! I can floor it in 1st, and there is no wheelspin at all! Even on wet roads! With other tires, the car has been kind of a burnout machine, but the Potenza Sports tames it. They run pretty wide for a 275, so the outside of the rear tires touch the fender ever so slightly on full suspension compression. I haven't dared testing the cornering limit of the tires on public roads, but I have tried cornering on the limit of my own bravery, and the tires just grip. Wet roads is no problem either. The tires offer confident handling and gives good feedback. Very stable at all speeds, but on very worn (thanks to people with studded winter tires) asphalt there can be a hint of tramlining. Not as much as expected, considering the sharp shoulders of the tires, and doesn't feel scary. Comfort is ok. Not great, not bad. A lot of external noise, but the car is pretty quiet inside, except on old rough asphalt. Sadly they have already started ozone cracking slightly. That's disappointing for a tire in this price range. It's not because of washing chemicals or sun, as the ozone cracks is even apparent on the inside. The tires also get pretty brown, and the only thing I've found that makes them black again is Carpro Perl (water based tire shine, mixed 1:1 with water). The ozone cracks started appearing before I used any tire shine. Either way, I'm blown away with the performance of these tires. Wear is also very acceptable, with the rears down to 4,8mm on the inside, and 5,5mm on the outside (measured 6,3mm on the inner groove when they were new). The fronts are at around 5,5mm. Pretty good for a heavy and relatively powerful car on grippy sport tires over 3000 enthusiastic miles. I'm pretty sure I will buy another set of the same tires when they wear out.

Falken Azenis FK510 rated 91% while driving a BMW 530D
Driving on mostly country roads for 6000 spirited miles
Great traction on dry and wet, did not push to the limits on wet tho. Lasted about i have them on the car for the last 10 000km and am very happy but have to say wears a bit more then i expected. At 10k km there is like 20-30% left in them. Probably will buy new set of rear next spring.

Nankang AR 1 rated 78% while driving a Porsche 987 Boxster S
Driving on track for 0 spirited miles
Been tracking a 944 and a Boxster for years. Both cars highly modified for track work. I just want to have fun and buy whatever r-comps or similar that are on sale. Had sets of re71r’s, Toyota r888r’s, nitto nt01’s. Then saw nangang ar1s on sale. Wow!, as much or more grip as all the above and unlike a review above, I Did not find the tires going any greasier earlier than the others. If you overdrive your car, a specially if it’s heavy, ALL tires will get greasy. And I got more track sessions out of AR1 than any of the above, except Maby the nitto’s. Super tire

Nexen N Fera SUR4 rated 74% while driving a BMW E39 M5
Driving on track for 0 spirited miles
Perfect tire for track days.
Not the best on wet condition but they defeat well on an heavy car like mine (e39m5).

The wear is good, they are predictable and responsive. They can compare to hankook rs4.

They are noisy and not suitable for daily driving. (I use it to go from the track to the house.. 4 hour drive and it's enough)

Yokohama Advan Sport V105 rated 84% while driving a BMW 535d M Sport
Driving on mostly country roads for 2000 spirited miles
Car is e60 535d sport package. I have those tires on rear axle, compared to nankangs i get from previous owner its day and night comparision. In my prewious e60 i had goodyears and later continentals. In comparision with contis i would say they are rather similar in performance but contis(cs3 or 4,dont remember) wear out faster.
As for goodyears they in may experience they dont give much grip. As for v105 they are exelent, great grip in dry, realy impresive grip on wet(which was realy suprising). Handling is also realy good, road feedback is kinda weird but its propably due to car being just executive limusine not a sport car but overal with this kind of tires it rides and feels like sport car ;)
