215/50 17 Tyre Review Highlights

Davanti DX640 rated 41% while driving a Ford Focus
Driving on for 0 miles
Tyre needed replacing after a few thousand miles, never again. And they're no cheaper than much more trust worthy brands. Support useless if not rude

Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE004 rated 84% while driving a Honda Civic 1.5T
Driving on mostly country roads for 34000 average miles
Original tyre is conti MC5 which is very noisy. After replace with RE004, road noise below at speed 80km/h have greatly reduced and a lot more comfortable. Enjoy every corner with these tyres . On the wet road , although it can handle the condition in a ok manner, but the feedback in wet is abit soft will feel like lack of confident. Overall is a very good tyres for daily drive to minor spirit drive.

Dunlop SP Sport LM 705 rated 87% while driving a Ford Focus MK3
Driving on a combination of roads for 8000 average miles
This is my second review
After a year summer/winter
These are pretty good tires good in all aspects
Very comfortable and robust for bad roads & potholes .
These are not performance tire but touring so do not expect UHP.
As miles pileup will show how will last and be.
Until now satisfied with them.
Made in Japan is one of strong points because in market most tires are outscored its common now.

Continental PremiumContact C rated 53% while driving a MG mg4
Driving on mostly town for 15000 easy going miles
The PremiumContact-C model was the factory wheel for my 2023 electric MG4. I would never recommend it for rear-wheel drive and electric vehicles. It slips very easily and the abs is activated everytime. It does not give confidence even at low speeds on wet surfaces. When you try to take off quickly, it skids immediately.

Continental EcoContact 6 rated 51% while driving a Ford Focus Zetec
Driving on mostly country roads for 0 easy going miles
These were factory fit on a Ford Focus Wagon 1.0 155hp from 2022. They last only 40.000km. I had 3 tyre punctures during two years. Really not a good tyre in the wet.

Sailun Atrezzo 4 Seasons rated 75% while driving a MG 6
Driving on mostly motorways for 1000 easy going miles
Bought these tyres as a replacement for a set of Falken AS 210 tyres which have been used for 41000km. I bought these tyres in the Edition "Pro EV" as they were specialised for electric cars and therefore can carry heavier loads.

I pumped them up to 3.2 bar, as this is my usual usage on this car. The tyres are quiet, rolling resistance is quite a bit lower (apporx. 1 kwh/100km). Which brings me about 5% more range. Hard breaking under wet and dry circumstances lead to an intervention of the ABS. As these tyres seem to loose contact to the road. Also quick maneuvers easily lead to screaming tires.

To be true i knew that i can have either a low rolling resistance or a short breaking distance as both values are mutually exclusive to each other. So i bought these tyres with this information in mind. In my opinion these are typical "nothing special tyres" with a quality to "middle, or brink to lower class tyres".

They were quite cheap, approx. 60% of the Falken AS210 and therefore i am happy with them. I knew that there are better tyres, but surely not at the same price.

Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2 rated 93% while driving a Ford Focus MK3
Driving on a combination of roads for 50000 average miles
This tyres last a lot. I had them for 85.000km and still going strong and I did not rotate them.
From time to time I had to check the alignment and that's it.
The originals Michelin Primacy Hp were very bad and they had to go after 85.000 km and after rotating them. at around 60.000km.
The last 20.000 were a pain.
Highly recommend them.

Triangle SeasonX TA01 rated 89% while driving a Opel Astra J 1.4 turbo
Driving on mostly country roads for 2000 average miles
I've used these tires for about 3.000 kilometers. I've used them in hot summer(37+ C), cold weather (-15 C), on dry, wet roads, on snow and some ice. The grip was
verry good in all conditions. I have a normal style of driving and for that I can say that tyre respond very well at all demand. I paid around 60 euros per tire which was
verry good price. I recommend!

Continental Premium Contact 6 rated 87% while driving a Honda Civic 1.8
Driving on a combination of roads for 52000 average miles
Excellent Tyres on wet and dry with impeccable braking. Handling is superb and saved my life couple of times where other types would have given up but they kept me planted on road. I have driven them for 52k km by now. By only issue with them is that they are a bit bumpy as compared to my mc5 and advan v552. But then it performes way better than either of two. Moreover I developed bubble in two of my tyres before it hit 50k and hence now I am using v552 in one of my rear wheel and planning to get 2 new cpc6. tread is almost 70% gone in front and 50% in rear. Please note that these are mostly used on motorways.

Continental ContiMaxContact MC5 rated 91% while driving a Honda Civic 1.8
Driving on mostly town for 50000 spirited miles
I have experienced Mc5 and they are more comfortable and somewhat quite than PC6 equipped in my car. Mc5 lasted me 50k km and they are still fine though they have turned hard now. Although CPC6 got bubble in 2 tyres before it could hit 50k; mc5 never got that issue. I would like to mention that MC5 are mostly used in city while cpc6 are used on car which is mostly used on motorways. Both are excellent tyres. You couldn't go wrong with either of them. If you want comfort with adequate grip go for mc5. If you can compromise on comfort but want some thing which handles like a beast and never disappoint you on high speeds. Get cpc6

Avon ZV7 rated 73% while driving a Citroën berlingo
Driving on a combination of roads for 9000 spirited miles
Just don't! I had Avon tyres before, they were ace and lasted long. This however, not even sure they did the 9000 as I have winter tyres too and didn't mark the mileage so it is an educated guess. They are good tyres in terms of performance, can't fault them. Love their grip on wet and dry and give a stable cornering experience. I bought my car when it was 1 year old and they came with Michelin Supremacy or whatever it was and they were horrible. I felt I was driving on ice, especially in wet conditions so I quickly replaced them. On my former car I had the Avons and in fact I still have them in the shed as I sold the car with the winter tyres, and that Avon is still solid at 6+ years old, no cracks, and did at least 25 000 miles. However the ones I bought in 2021 for the Berlingo they got cracks all over the place as described by other reviews. Also I didn't check the treads properly just briefly and it was around half way on the sides, never realised that they were almost on the legal limit in the middle until I've read it in the shop report that the tyres were at 6%. We went away for a long weekend and having 3 little children I didn't take any chances, told the local shop to replace them. Since I had only 2 days to sort it out I went for the same again. First I thought I must have had done something to the tyres myself like letting them on for this winter or the high speed travel on the autobahn had its toll or just simply had a bad batch as the other avons were fine. I hope I won't regret this decision, I came to look if it is really fine to have less than 3 year old tyres with all the cracking. I was shocked to see all these reviews with the same issues. I wish I had the time to check around before I had to buy again, I would have avoided it!
I didn't mind the mileage as much as I wasn't particularly soft with them and this is a big box car, probably has a bit more force on the corners than the ford focus I had before but wasn't happy about it either. It is not cheap, it cost me £110 per tyre fitted now. The guy in the shop said it is completely normal to have those cracks on a 3 years old tyre. I guess he said that because he knew I bought those from them too. Anyway, this review is for that faulty set of tyres. Since I normally use winter tyres too I kept the front and back rotating therefore I had all 4 tyres on 6% according to the tyre shop. As many other it was the middle tread which was gone with the sides looking like half way done only.
There is one more aspect that probably nobody noticed, Now that I had the new ones fitted the car is more "bouncy" like the tyres were overinflated. I am yet to check that (was nothing but raining badly since) but I doubt the shop put more air in them than shown on the sticker in the door frame and that's what I usually kept myself with regular checks and adjustments. If the pressure is in the same region it would mean that the tyres are "softening" with time and road feedback changes. However, I must point out that I didn't notice any change in the grip on the worn tyres. I wasn't pushing them to the limits though but in everyday spirited driving they didn't feel different.
I will come back in a year or two and give another feedback on the current set. Hopefully I will be lucky and these will last long and won't crack. Also I have a set of winter tyres they are Avon too, at some point I'll do a review on them as well. In terms of performance they are the same as this so quite happy with those too, but now I am worried about the longevity.
